I received the “Up All Night” set, which has blue and pink products (which I have swatches of in a bit). It comes in this collectible brick-patterned tin with a removable plastic sleeve. The boys in the band are featured on the front, while the back shows the included products and lists all the ingredients.

For the record, the lid is attached by a hinge; it just looks like it’s two pieces because I couldn’t get a decent shot of both sides in the same image. Anyway, the inside of the front cover has some eye looks and talks about the rest of the makeup. On the other side, the makeup is nestled in a removable plastic tray. The tin is an inch and a half or so deep, so it can be used to hold all kinds of stuff if you opt to take the makeup out.

First up is the mascara in “Little Black Dress.” It’s a softer black and a bit of a drier formula than I would normally go for. The formula was otherwise good. I didn’t experience any flaking. The Eye & Body Pencil in “Stand Up” is a creamy navy blue pencil that can be used for eyeliner and (as the name would suggest) can be used to draw on the body. The swatch is heavily drawn, but even a single swipe gives a good amount of color. It doesn’t smudge easily, but there is a bit of time to work with it before it sets.

The 4 + 1 Eyeshadow Palette contains 4 powder eyeshadows and 1 cream one. I did not swatch any of these over primer.

  • “More Than This” is the soft blush pink in the top corner. As you can see, it’s a really close match to my skintone, so it’s an excellent color for the browbone area. It was a bit patchy, but there was no fallout with this one.
  • The turquoise is “Save You Tonight” and is my favorite from this palette. It’s really vibrant and soft, with very little fallout and no patchiness.
  • The deep shimmery navy in the bottom corner is “Another World,” and it’s a bit of a problem child. Patchy and lots of fallout, which could be helped by primer. It’s such a pretty color though!
  • The taupe (my second favorite) is “Gotta Be You.” It’s soft and smooth, but there’s a teeny bit of fallout.
  • The last one in the middle is “Up All Night,” the lone cream in the palette. It takes a bit of work to get it out of the palette, and it doesn’t go on very smoothly. However, I’m not really used to using cream shadows, so it might be a case of user error. I’ll update this post if my opinion changes.

The first swatch is “I Should Have Kissed You,” a cool-toned baby pink lipstick. It’s very smooth and creamy, and I didn’t notice any kind of scent. It did stain a little bit, but it was fairly long lasting. The last swatch is “Taken,” a bright pink lipgloss  sprinkled with some multicolored microglitter. It’s UV-reactive and glows neon orange. It’s fairly pigmented for being a gloss. It’s on the sticky side, and it does have a fairly strong sugary scent. The middle swatch is Taken layered over I Should Have Kissed You.

The nail polish is “Na Na Na,” a shimmery turquoise that always makes me think of mermaids. This is about half the size of a standard polish bottle, but it’s not quite what I’d call a mini. It’s not a unique color by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s still very pretty. The formula was smooth and easy to control, and it took three coats for opacity.

Lastly but certainly not least, we have the stencils. There are five stencils in the various patterns you see above in a folded cardboard sleeve. The stencils are heavy card stocks and don’t have any sort of adhesive on them as far as I’ve been able to tell. I think the best way to use these would be to tape them down where you want the design before you stencil it.

Final thoughts

Overall, I think this is a really good kit. The colors are really nice and have fairly good pigmentation across the board. I can see myself using everything in the tin again. I do wish that they had included a coordinating blush, though. It’s a great value, though, and a definite must for any One Direction fan!

So what do you think? Would you wear these colors? Are you a Directioner?

That’s all for today! Thanks for looking!
