Green Dry Marble with Barielle

Hi, all! Since tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, I have a bit of green nail art to share today!

I recently got a silicone baking mat to use for nail art and decal-making purposes (actually a pair of them on Amazon for only $5!!), so I decided to try my hand at some dry marbling.

I used three green shades from Barielle for this: Date Night (a shimmery emerald green), Boho Chic (a deep blue green creme), and Gondola Ride (a medium sage green). On the mat, I painted a thick layer of the base color, either Date Night or Boho Chic. Then I added a thick line diagonallydown the middle using Gondola Ride and drew back and forth with a short striper brush.

I let the decals dry for a couple days, which was much longer than necessary; I just wasn’t ready to take my previous mani off for a bit. 😀 When I was ready to put the decals on, I painted on a coat of the base color, trimmed the decal fairly close, and smoothed it onto the slightly tacky base.

Using the baking mat worked pretty well. The decal peeled off smoothly, and the slight texture from the mat (from threads sandwiched in the silicone) wasn’t apparent on the nail. The only problem I had was the decals dried out a little too much before I used them and became a bit brittle. That was my fault though, not the mat’s. All in all, it is definitely worth the very low price I paid.

That’s all for today! Thanks for looking!
