Sideways Chevron Colorblocking

Hi, all! Why isn’t it Friday yet?! For today’s post, I have some simple colorblocking.

I started with a base of 2 coats of OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI?, a plummy purple with red and gold shimmer. It applied pretty well, but it was a little disconcertingly sheer on the first coat but built up nicely on the second. I did have to seriously color-correct my photos because DYJLO photographed super blue-toned.

I cut strips of contact paper using some chevron-edged scissors to use like nail vinyls. I painted over the vinyl using a semi-thick coat of Finger Paints (which I never know whether it should be one word or two?) Gilded Chrome. It’s chock full of neutral gold glitter, but there’s also yellow gold and matte white glitter as well. It does dried textured too, so if that’s not your thing, you’ll need a good top coat to smooth it out.

That’s all for today! Thanks for looking!
